Join Chamber Music at Bethany on March 17 at 2pm for Unexpected Inspiration. Featuring clarinetist John Bruce Yeh of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, this concert explores works that came about or came to prominence in surprising ways: Brahms’ Clarinet Trio, written after the composer had “retired” from composing; Debussy’s Première rhapsodie, a work written for the clarinet exams at the Paris Conservatoire that went on to great and surprising success; Nino Rota’s Clarinet Trio, a chamber work from the famous film composer of the Godfather Trilogy and many Fellini films; and Maria Grenfell’s Time Transfixed, which takes its title from the surrealist painting by René Magritte.
